Synopsis

A multi-season reimagining of the legend of El Cid (aka Rodrigo Díaz ‘Ruy’) an infamous medieval army general who in the 11th century was a military leader and contributed to the unification of Spain. Season 1 sees Ruy grow from small boy to handsome Royal Aid. When king of Castile and Leon dies, the kingdom is divided in to three parts. Assigning one territory to each of his three sons, the inheritance leads to an epic battle between the three brothers, who fight for power to become King. El Cid is a story of treason, love and betrayal set against the political back drop of three feuding kingdoms and two clashing civilizations. Ruy will be caught between loyalty and personal glory, passion and true love as we follow his journey to becoming the ultimate warrior and legend, El Cid.
