Synopsis

A historical examination of the British presence in India, from their arrival in 1609 to their departure in 1947. Approaching the period from an economic perspective, the film concludes that the British arrived as traders, evolved into a system of mafia-style control over Indian rulers, and ultimately left when their colonial enterprise was no longer profitable.
