Synopsis

This authentic, beautifully realised musical drama draws on Vivaldi's early years in Venice when he taught music to abandoned and orphaned young women. When Cecilia (Tecla Insolia), a talented violinist and one of his protégées, refuses to give up her musical career for marriage, she invites dangerous attention from the orphanage's draconian governor.
